Removal of existing wallpaper from interior walls in a home, apartment, office, rental property or other premises.
The service applies to standard wallpaper installed on walls that are reasonably accessible and in generally stable condition.
Wallpaper is loosened and removed using an appropriate method depending on the type of covering and adhesive.
Basic removal includes stripping the main wallpaper layer and cleaning accessible paper and adhesive residue from the wall surface.
Water, steam or suitable wallpaper-removal products may be used where appropriate for the existing covering.
The underlying surface is visually checked during removal for loose plaster, damaged filler, cracks or other defects that become visible after the wallpaper is removed.
Minor remaining adhesive residue may be cleaned as part of the standard service where practical.
Wall smoothing, extensive filling, plaster repair, plasterboard replacement and preparation to a paint-ready finish are not included unless specifically agreed.
Removal of several layers of wallpaper, vinyl or washable coverings, heavily bonded materials or specialist wall coverings may require additional labour and are assessed separately.
Wallpaper removal from ceilings, stairwells, very high walls or difficult-access areas is assessed separately.
Paint, primer, filler and other finishing materials are not included.
Final wall painting or installation of new wallpaper is a separate service.
If the underlying wall surface is unstable or significantly damaged, additional repair may be required before further decoration.
