Local treatment and repainting of visible surface mould on an interior wall or ceiling in a home, apartment, office, rental property or other premises.
The service is intended for limited areas of surface mould where the underlying cause of excess moisture has already been identified and corrected.
Before treatment, the affected area is inspected for visible signs of damp, loose paint, damaged plaster or other surface deterioration.
The mould-affected surface is cleaned and treated using a suitable mould-removal or anti-fungal product according to the condition of the surface.
Loose or unstable paint may be removed where required.
After the treated area has dried sufficiently, a suitable primer or anti-mould coating may be applied where appropriate.
Compatible interior paint is then applied to restore the treated surface. One or more coats may be required depending on the existing colour and condition.
Paint, primer, mould-treatment products and other consumable materials are not included unless specifically stated in the quotation.
The service does not include locating or repairing roof leaks, plumbing leaks, façade water ingress, rising damp, condensation problems or inadequate ventilation.
Extensive mould growth, recurring mould, hidden contamination behind plasterboard or other finishes and large affected areas require separate assessment.
Damaged plaster, plasterboard, insulation or other building materials requiring removal or replacement are not included.
Local treatment cannot prevent mould from returning if the underlying moisture or ventilation problem remains unresolved.
Exact colour or texture matching with an existing aged painted surface cannot always be guaranteed. Full wall or ceiling repainting may be recommended for a uniform finish.
