Steam disinfection of tiles and grout lines is an additional service for kitchens, bathrooms, shower areas, hallways, terraces, utility rooms and other areas with tiled surfaces. It helps refresh the tile surface, treat accessible grout lines with steam and reduce surface dirt, odours, dust, allergens and microorganisms.
Tiles and grout lines are in daily contact with water, dust, grease, soap residue, household cleaning products, shoes, moisture and airborne dirt. Over time, residue, darkened grout lines, signs of active use and odours may appear in areas with high humidity. This is especially relevant for kitchens, bathrooms, showers, toilets, entrance areas and properties after tenants.
Before starting, the cleaner inspects the tiles and grout lines, assesses the surface type, grout condition, level of soiling, presence of cracks, chips, limescale, mould, old chemical residue or damage. After that, a safe steam treatment mode is selected according to the tile material, grout condition and risk of surface damage.

- Treatment of walls, ceilings, furniture, sanitaryware or glass, unless agreed separately
- Medical sterilisation
- Guaranteed elimination of all bacteria, viruses, fungi, mites and allergens
- Treatment of areas with active mould, insects, bed bugs or unsafe sanitary condition of the property
These tasks may require separate specialised treatment, chemical cleaning, repair, restoration, disinfection, pest control or involvement of a specialised technician.
Important limitations
Steam treatment is not suitable for all types of tiles, stone and grout. It is best suited for moisture-resistant and heat-resistant surfaces, such as ceramic tiles, porcelain tiles and some types of stone in normal condition.
Extra care is required with natural stone, porous tiles, old grout, damaged grout lines, tiles with decorative coating, treated surfaces, microcracks or unknown materials. These surfaces may be sensitive to steam, moisture and heat.
We do not perform steam treatment if there is a risk of grout damage, moisture penetration under the tiles, coating delamination, damage to the decorative layer or worsening of grout condition.
Not all dirt can be removed completely. Old limescale, rust, deeply ingrained dirt, darkened grout, mould inside grout lines, cement, glue, paint and construction-related dirt may require separate chemical treatment or restoration.
Tiles and grout lines with active mould, heavy biological contamination, signs of insects or unsafe sanitary condition are not treated as part of the standard service. In such cases, specialised disinfection, mould removal or grout repair is required.
After steam treatment, surfaces may need time to dry completely and air out. Damp areas must not be immediately covered with rugs, furniture, plastic film or objects if the surface has not yet dried.
Our approach
We perform steam disinfection of tiles and grout lines according to a technical cleaning card: first, we inspect the surface, assess the material, grout condition and risks, then select a safe steam mode and treat accessible areas with moisture control.
Tile surfaces are treated with a flat nozzle and microfiber cloth to gently remove surface dirt. Grout lines are treated with a steam jet nozzle to work precisely along grout lines and areas where dirt accumulates.
The main goal is to refresh tiles and grout lines, reduce surface dust, odours, allergens and everyday dirt without damaging the tiles, grout or protective coatings. We do not use aggressive methods and do not perform treatment if there is a high risk of damaging the surface.
Before/after photo or video confirmation is available on request, especially if the service is performed at a property without the owner present.
Payment and documents
Payment is made on site after the service: in cash or by card via payment link.
The service price is excluding VAT. If you need an official invoice, 21% VAT is added.
