Steam disinfection and sanitary mattress treatment is an additional service for apartments, rental properties, houses, hospitality properties or short-term rental properties. It helps refresh the mattress and reduce dust, surface dirt, odours, allergens and microorganisms on accessible surfaces.
A mattress is in daily contact with the body, skin, sweat, dust, textiles, moisture and everyday dirt. Over time, odours, dust particles, signs of use and surface contamination may accumulate in it. This is especially important for rental apartments, guest rooms, properties after tenants, family homes and properties where a neat and hygienic sleeping area must be maintained.
Before starting, the cleaner inspects the mattress and assesses the fabric type, seam condition, presence of stains, odours, moisture marks, deformation, mould or filling damage. After that, a safe steam treatment mode is selected, taking into account the material, mattress thickness, fabric condition and the risk of over-wetting.

What is not included in the basic service
The basic service price does not include:
- Extraction mattress cleaning
- Deep dry cleaning of the mattress
- Washing the removable cover
- Complete stain removal
- Removal of urine, blood, vomit, mould or biological contamination
- Removal of old odours from deep inside the filling
- Fabric whitening
- Restoration of fabric colour
- Repairing seams, piping, fabric or zips
- Replacing the filling
- Drying with professional air movers or drying equipment, unless agreed separately
- Medical sterilisation
- Guaranteed elimination of all bacteria, viruses, fungi, mites and allergens
- Treatment of mattresses with active mould, bed bugs, insects or unsafe sanitary condition
These tasks may require separate specialised treatment, dry cleaning, disinfection, pest control or replacement of the item.
Important limitations
Steam treatment is not suitable for all types of mattresses. Some fabrics and fillings are sensitive to heat, moisture and steam. Extra care is required with memory foam, latex, natural fillings, wool, silk, viscose, delicate fabrics and mattresses without a readable care label.
Not all odours can be removed completely. If the smell is deep inside the filling or is related to urine, sweat, mould, long storage, dampness or biological contamination, it may partially remain even after steam treatment.
We do not guarantee a “like new” condition if the mattress is old, deformed, yellowed, stained, has moisture marks, damaged filling, mould or traces of incorrect self-cleaning.
Mattresses with active mould, bed bugs, insects, heavy biological contamination or a strong decomposition-like odour are not treated. In such cases, specialised disinfection, pest control or mattress replacement is required.
After steam treatment, the mattress may need time to dry completely and air out. A damp mattress must not be immediately covered with a mattress protector, sheet or blanket, or used before it is fully dry.
Our approach
We perform sanitary mattress treatment according to a technical cleaning card: first, we inspect the item and assess the fabric and filling, then select a safe steam mode, treat both sides and the edges, while controlling the moisture level.
The main goal is to carefully refresh the mattress and reduce surface dirt, odours, dust and allergens without damaging the fabric, seams or filling. We do not use aggressive methods and do not perform treatment if there is a high risk of damaging the item.
Before/after photo or video confirmation is available on request, especially if the service is performed at a property without the owner present.
Payment and documents
Payment is made on site after the service: in cash or by card via payment link.
The service price is excluding VAT. If you need an official invoice, 21% VAT is added.
