Diagnosis and repair of 1 domestic electric storage water heater in a home, apartment, rental property or other premises.
The service includes inspection of the water heater, identification of the probable fault and repair of accessible components where technically possible.
Typical problems may include no hot water, insufficient heating, excessively hot water, slow heating, intermittent operation, electrical protection tripping, unusual noise or visible leakage around accessible connections.
The service may include checking and, where appropriate, replacing accessible components such as thermostats, heating elements, thermal safety devices, electrical connections, seals or pressure-relief components.
Heating elements, thermostats, safety valves, seals, electronic controls and other replacement parts are not included unless specifically stated. Required parts are charged separately.
Accessible electrical supply, wiring connections and basic operating parameters may be checked as part of the repair.
Visible water connections, safety valve and accessible pipe connections may also be checked for signs of leakage or abnormal operation.
Repair of damaged property wiring, installation of a new electrical circuit, replacement of water pipes, relocation of the heater or major plumbing modifications are not included.
If the internal tank is corroded, leaking or structurally damaged, repair may not be practical and replacement of the water heater may be recommended.
Removal and installation of a complete replacement water heater is a separate service unless specifically included in the quotation.
For units installed in cupboards, ceilings or other restricted locations, sufficient safe access must be available. Difficult access or additional dismantling is assessed separately.
