Replacement of 1 existing circuit breaker or RCD in an accessible domestic or commercial consumer unit.
The price applies where the existing device can be replaced without modification of the consumer unit, wiring or circuit configuration.
The service includes isolation of the electrical supply, removal of the existing breaker or RCD, installation of a compatible replacement, reconnection of the existing conductors and basic functionality testing.
The customer provides the replacement breaker or RCD unless its supply has been agreed separately.
The replacement device must be compatible with the existing consumer unit, circuit characteristics, rated current and required protection type.
Replacement breakers, RCDs, busbars, cable, connectors and other components are not included unless specifically stated. Required parts are charged separately.
The service does not include replacement of the complete consumer unit, installation of additional circuits, major rewiring, modification of overloaded or damaged circuits, electrical certification or repair of concealed wiring.
Repeated tripping does not automatically mean that the breaker or RCD is defective. If testing indicates a fault elsewhere in the circuit or connected equipment, additional diagnosis and repair will be required and agreed separately.
If overheating, damaged conductors, unsuitable protection or other unsafe conditions are discovered inside the consumer unit, additional corrective work may be required before the circuit can be returned to service.
