Diagnosis and repair of 1 local electrical fault causing a short circuit, loss of power or repeated tripping of a breaker or RCD.
The service includes basic electrical testing, inspection of accessible wiring and electrical points, isolation of the affected circuit where required and identification of the probable source of the fault.
Typical causes may include damaged accessible wiring, loose or overheated connections, faulty sockets or switches, damaged light fittings or defective connected equipment.
Where the fault is accessible and can be safely corrected within the scope of a minor repair, the technician may repair or reconnect the affected wiring or component.
Replacement sockets, switches, breakers, connectors, cable, light fittings and other electrical parts are not included unless specifically stated. Required materials are charged separately.
The service does not include complete rewiring, extensive tracing of concealed cables, opening walls or ceilings, installation of new circuits, consumer unit replacement or restoration of damaged building finishes.
If the fault is located in concealed wiring or requires substantial cable replacement or modification of the electrical installation, additional work will be assessed and agreed separately.
If the affected circuit cannot be made safe during the visit, it may need to remain isolated until the required repair is completed.
