Replacement of filter sand in 1 standard sand filtration unit serving a private swimming pool.
The service is intended for filters where the existing filtration media has reached the end of its useful service life, is heavily contaminated or needs replacement as part of pool maintenance.
The filtration system is switched off and isolated before opening the filter where normal access and equipment condition allow.
Existing filter sand is removed from the filter body.
Accessible internal components may be visually checked during the process, including the filter vessel, laterals, standpipe and visible seals.
The filter is then refilled with the correct grade and quantity of pool filter sand according to the filter manufacturer’s requirements.
After refilling, the filter is reassembled and the system is prepared for operation.
A standard backwash and rinse cycle may be carried out before returning the filter to normal filtration mode.
New filter sand is not included in the base service price and is charged separately according to the quantity and specification required.
Replacement of damaged laterals, standpipe, multiport valve, seals, pressure gauge or other filter components is not included.
Repair of pumps, pipework, valves or other pool equipment is charged separately.
Old filter media may be bagged and left in an agreed location at the property. Off-site transport and disposal are charged separately where required.
Filters with difficult access, unusually large media capacity or heavily compacted filter material may require additional labour and an individual quotation.
